To give you maximum flexibility, the Carbon theme offers a number of widget areas around the page. 9 custom widgets included in the theme work in tandem to help you create a range of layouts and effects.

Widget visibility
To get the most from Carbon, we recommend you install a plugin to allow control over widget visibility, so you can show different widgets on different page types. Two that we recommend have have tested with are Jetpack and Content Aware Sidebars, there are also others out there that should work just fine.
